The view from the hide 2019
‘The view from the hide’ is an annual publication that summarises our year at the hide.
It allows us to showcase some of what we have been working on, both for clients and in-house, alongside things that inspire us and emerging trends in the industry. We also feature some of the years best wildlife photography from our founder.
This years issue centres on the concept of transformation. Making the leap from being a small group of freelancers to positioning ourselves as a design studio has been the focus of the year. We have put a lot of time into defining who we are as a studio and what differentiates us from others. The writing and articles in this issue therefore are based largely around what has influenced our approach over the course of the year; from experimenting with new materials to embracing theory based research alongside practical work.
There is a broad range of content featured. We look at the typefaces that have intrigued us the most this year and what materials we have been experimenting with. We have written and designed a feature case study on corporate reporting alongside showcasing eclectic objects we have been gathering. And of course, last but not least, the wildlife photography that influenced our brand from the beginning.
